Biography

Born in 1953 in Crotone, he is one of the most significant sculptors of the 80’s generation, already presented at Documenta Kassel in 1982 by Germano Celant.

Main exhibitions

His most important exhibitions include his solo exhibition at the Kunstverein in 1985 and the Venice Biennale in 1986. In 1989 he exhibited at the Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt, in 1999 he held a solo exhibition at the Galleria d’Arte Moderna Palazzo Forti in Verona, in 1986 he was present at the XI Quadriennale d’Arte Internazionale in Rome and in 1999 at the XIII Quadriennale d’Arte Internazionale in Rome. In 2018 the work “Giustizia” (Justice) was placed at the Palazzo di Giustizia in Florence and won the international contemporary art competition in 2015. In 2018/2019 she exhibited at the Galleria Clivio with the exhibition “Antonio Violetta: Selected Works”, the first anthological exhibition of her work with works from 1976 to 2018.
